living space 5 | a fry's spring family
This is the fifth installment of my living space series, in which I spend a few hours in a home capturing the details of the lives lived within its walls.
I was first introduced to Adrienne and her home when I photographed her children's playroom for Cville Abode. We have a mutual friend, Anita, and when I put a request on Facebook for my next living space home, Anita sent me Adrienne's information. I immediately recalled how much I loved the space she's created for her family, mostly from thrifting and salvaging unique pieces. This Fry's Spring bungalow nestled in the trees gave me the opportunity to really play with shadow, and I embraced the moodier feel of rooms when they are lit only by the light streaming through the craftsman windows. I love the subdued palette puncutuated by the ocassional pop of color and Adrienne's eye for spying beautiful pieces in unexpected places.

My beautiful childhood friend, Christina, is having a baby girl in October! I am so happy that I was able to see her yesterday in Raleigh for a quick lunch and maternity session. Have you ever seen a more stunning mom-to-be? She is such a joy to photograph.

Pippin Hill Farm + Vineyards has one of the most beautiful tasting rooms in the area, and an incredible summer menu to enjoy while visiting! If the weather is nice, guests can borrow a blanket and have a picnic basket on the lawn. What are you doing this weekend?
moto pho co | charlottesville's new pho restaurant!!!
Our long wait is over. Charlottesville finally has a pho restaurant! Vu Nguyen, owner and chef at Zinc, will open Moto Pho Co. to the very excited people of Charlottesville tomorrow, August 1st. He designed the clean, modern space that is bright with natural light by day and glowing, exposed lightbulbs by night. I love the community tables and the painted brick walls.
